Hi everyone! Here I am again with another nail salon review served to you hot and fresh. I had the pleasure of visiting City Nails for the first time, and they did not disappoint me in the slightest. What are my credentials you may ask for? I have extensive experience not only as a client, but most importantly sitting behind the chair doing acrylic nail sets professionally. I know exactly what to look for regarding quality and overall experience, and with that helping YOU navigate a memorable and good quality service (and help you avoid a not-so-great experience). The overall experience I had at City Nails exceeded my expectations and left me extremely satisfied. The quality, the environment and care they put into my nails left me wanting more!
Service & Quality – Acrylic Nails in Maple Ridge
As soon as I arrived, I took notes immediately on the space and tools used for the appointment. Up to date nail instruments were being used, having new model LED lights for better visuals while doing nails, as well as proper sanitization products which is extremely important regarding client health. I sat down in the chair as Ana got to work. The preparation of my nails was flawless, as she took extra care of pushing down my cuticles and sanding my nail bed. Not many clients realize how extremely important nail preparation is, as it is the staple in proper application and retention (longer lasting nail sets). I had recently taken off an old set, which resulted in my nail beds being a bit weak from the previous set, but Ana took careful steps to make sure it didn’t affect the process or hurt in any way, as weak nail beds can lead to a burning sensation. Ana did a seamless application, applying the acrylic as close to the nailbed as possible, which is great for longer lasting sets. I asked for a pointed almond shape which she did fast and efficiently. I had an inspiration picture as I wanted to try something new for the design, in which she did flawlessly. Ana was extremely talented with her painting technique, which was super quick. The whole process went smoothly, and I was extremely impressed with her work as I had no clue what I was walking in to.
Customer Service – Maple Ridge Nail Salon Experience
When you walk in, you’re greeted with friendly faces and big smiles. I arrived 15 minutes early but sat in the chair minutes after arriving which was super accommodating. They had a Vietnamese coffee station where you can grab a complimentary coffee before your appointment which I thought was great. The environment was super welcoming, with the staff making sure you feel very comfortable. I noted their point system, 10 points for every $1 spent, and every 1500 points is $5 off which was one of the things that made me put City nails on my return list as I love a good reward system. Before Ana got started, she helped me color match my inspiration picture with colors of nail polish they had, which was a big variety. Ana took extra care into fully understanding exactly what I wanted done so she could give me exactly what I expected. Ana was super friendly during my appointment, checking in throughout the process to make sure I loved the way my nails looked. I did notice there were no TVs on the wall like most nail salons have, which was unique. The owner believes not having TVs will create a more relaxing experience, which I really appreciated. Everyone is always so used to staring at screens a lot throughout the day, I know I am guilty of it, so it was refreshing to be more in the moment and really get to enjoy the experience. Halfway through the service, another staff member checked in and asked if I needed water or coffee, which surprised me in a good way. I could really tell through my experience that City nails really take the time to genuinely care about their clients. On that same note, I noticed they had a lot of regulars come in that all the staff welcomed by name, which supported my observation of the care they put into their work and environment they have created.
Final Verdict – 5 Star Nail Salon in Maple Ridge
From the cleanliness, good sanitation of tools, quality of work, and client care, I would honestly give City Nails 5 stars which is extremely rare for me. Just from walking in, my experience started positively right off the bat, and even though I was early they made sure I wasn’t waiting too long. The extremely detailed work curated by Ana, and the care she took making sure I was happy throughout the service left a positive mark on me. The details from the preparation and knowledge she had made me feel reassured and well taken care of. I could’ve never imagined the care and good energy I would be walking in to, but I was pleasantly surprised. It is also worth noting that City Nails has kid services (10 and under) for a super special experience for parents and guardians, as well on their website they have tons of different combos and specials (including massages) for a relaxing experience. I look forward to continuing to watch the business thrive and for my next visit!
