Intro and Overall Experience at Vienny Nails
Playing multiple sports really takes a toll on my hands and feet, so I decided to treat myself to a manicure, pedicure, and gel polish from Vienny Nails in Maple Ridge.
When I first walked in, I was not too impressed by the overall organization of the establishment. I noticed that each station had not been cleaned and that none of their tools and supplies were put away. Instead, they were left out on the stations.
In regards to the storefront of the salon, it did not catch my attention and looked a little run down in my opinion.
What initially drew me to this Maple Ridge nail salon was the affordable pricing on the services that I wanted to get, and that they were local. The location was easy to find as it was very close to the main entrance of ValleyFair Mall.
Another thing that stood out to me was the staff. I found them to be somewhat pushy and, at times, rude, and overall they did not seem very interested in making conversation or creating a welcoming experience.
Vienny Nails Location and Convenience
One of the positives about Vienny Nails is its location. Being close to ValleyFair Mall in Maple Ridge makes it a convenient option for anyone who is already shopping or running errands in the area.
The salon is relatively easy to find, and its location makes it accessible for people who want to combine their nail appointment with other activities. For me, the convenience of having a local nail salon nearby was one of the main reasons I decided to give Vienny Nails a try.
I also appreciated that the prices were relatively affordable compared to some of the other nail salons I had looked at.
When booking a nail appointment, I think convenience and price are both important factors, especially when you are looking for a regular salon rather than somewhere you only visit for a special occasion.
However, while the location and pricing were positives, I felt that the overall appearance and organization of the salon took away from some of that convenience. A salon can have a great location and affordable services, but the environment still plays a major role in how comfortable a customer feels.
Vienny Nails Cleanliness and Organization
Cleanliness is one of the most important things I look for in a nail salon because the services involve tools and equipment being used directly on your hands and feet.
Unfortunately, this was one of the areas where Vienny Nails did not make the best first impression.
When I arrived, I noticed that the nail stations did not appear to have been properly cleaned. There were also tools and supplies left out on the stations instead of being organized or put away. Seeing this made me question how much attention was being given to cleanliness and organization.
I understand that nail salons can get busy, and I do not expect every station to look perfect throughout the day. However, I do think that cleaning and organizing the station between clients is an important part of creating a professional environment.
Small things like wiping down the work area and putting supplies away can make a big difference.
Vienny Nails Manicure, Pedicure and Gel Polish
I decided to get a manicure, pedicure, and gel polish because I wanted to treat myself after playing multiple sports.
The affordable pricing was one of the reasons I chose Vienny Nails, and I was hoping the services would make the experience worthwhile.
The actual services were completed, but I felt that the overall experience could have been much better if the salon had been more organized and welcoming.
When I visit a nail salon, I am not only paying for the final result. I am also paying for the experience of being able to relax and feel taken care of.
Because of the atmosphere and interactions with the staff, I did not get the relaxing self-care experience I had originally hoped for.
Staff and Customer Service at Vienny Nails
The customer service was probably the biggest disappointment for me.
From the beginning, I found some of the staff to be somewhat pushy and rude. Rather than feeling welcomed and comfortable, I felt like the focus was more on getting through the appointment than creating a positive experience.
I also noticed that there was not much effort made to have a conversation or make me feel comfortable.
I understand that nail technicians can be busy, but there is a difference between being professional and making a customer feel ignored. Good customer service does not mean staff have to constantly talk to you. Sometimes it is simply about being friendly, listening to what the customer wants, checking in, and making them feel welcome.
Unfortunately, I did not feel like that was the case during my visit.
Vienny Nails Pricing and Value
The affordable pricing was one of the main reasons I chose Vienny Nails. Compared to some other nail salons in Maple Ridge, the prices seemed reasonable and made the salon worth trying.
However, value is about more than just the price.
When I spend money on a manicure and pedicure, I expect the overall experience to feel worth what I paid. This includes the quality of the work, cleanliness, organization, and customer service.
Because I was not completely impressed by the environment or customer service, I did not feel that the affordable pricing completely made up for the other issues.
I would not necessarily say that Vienny Nails needs to change its prices. Instead, improving the overall customer experience would make the affordable pricing feel like much better value for customers.
